From the early Mohawk Indians and the European settler William Johnson to the rise of the carpet mill days, this documentary explores the rich history of Amsterdam, New York. The first part of the series focuses on the city's boom time in the 1920s. By the 1950s, carpet-making technology had changed and the Amsterdam workforce began to become obsolete, dramatically changing the path of the city.
