It's been a year since U.S. troops pulled out of Afghanistan. The sudden decision last August left many Afghans desperate to escape at a Kabul airport in fear of the Taliban. A friendship between a Chicago-native Marine and an Afghan interpreter who worked with U.S. forces culminated in a harrowing escape and the aftermath of securing safety in the U.S.
