Something Completely Different: Underwater Rugby
Clip: Season 8 Episode 3 | 7m 16sVideo has Closed Captions
It’s like soccer, American football, and snorkeling all wrapped up into a human fishball.
WFSU’s Mike Plummer shows you a sport you have probably never seen before. Underwater Rugby is played in freshwater at a depth between 12 and 17 ft. with a ball filled with saltwater. The denser saltwater makes it possible to pass or throw the ball underwater. The objective is to place the ball into the opponents basket. Players wear a mask, fins, snorkel, and ear protection.
