Clip: Season 1 Episode 2 | 5m 51s | Video has closed captioning.
WFSU's Mike Plummer discovers what it is like to plant and harvest clams at Alligator Harbor. Clam Farmer Chip Earl grows his underwater "crop" on a clam lease. Each lease is about 80 ft by 800 ft. Seed clams are approximately 4-millimeters wide when they are planted in mesh bags underwater. The clams are later transferred to bigger bags. It takes about 15 to 18 months until harvest time.
