September 27, 2019. The Florida State University Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Richard Clary, performs the world premiere of Jonathan Newman's piece, Pi’ilani and Ko’olau (2019). The piece, which was commissioned by the Florida State University College of Music, is an “Imagined Ballet” to a scenario by playwright Gary Winter. Works by Bartók and Milhaud are also on the program.
